Main Street Trick or Treat:
The Gloucester Main Street Association and the Cook Foundation held their third annual Main Street Trick or Treat along Gloucester Main Street on Saturday, October 31st. Over 27 businesses hosted an estimated record number of 1500-1800 children. Throughout the course of the event, over 5000 people visited Main Street Halloween Night! As an added bonus, families who dined with their costumed children on Main Street that evening, received a 10% discount from Olivia’s in the Village, Sazeracs, Bangkok Noi, Wild Rabbit Café, and El Ranchito. New to the event this year was the Cook Foundation’s Pumpkin Decorating Contest. We had 32 entries in the contest’s inaugural year. Fun was had by all. The winners were as follows: Bob Arey, Shaun Mason, Sarah Clarke & Peyton Tawny in the Individual / Family Category. Winners in the Business category were the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, Puller Center, & Twice Told Tales. Friends of the Puller Center were our big winners in the club / organization category. All winners received a $25 gift certificate to a Main Street restaurant. Also new to the event was a FREE outdoor showing of Monsters VS. Aliens. Approximately 100 guests attended the movie - what a perfect way to end a Halloween packed with fun activities!
The event was sponsored by the Gloucester Main Street Association, Cook Foundation, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department, and Chesapeake Bank.
